Many college freshman vision being socially active as much harder than it actually is. Many on BSU's campus were asked to compare now versus four months ago, and most said meeting new people is easier than expected.

Exposure to diversity
While many see social life as self-serving and more enjoyable than not, it also serves as a function in our community. Because society puts us in this "large fishbowl with many fish", we all learn from eachother in order to better our environment. Meeting people that differ from yourself allows you to gain experience and knowledge from others, while you're providing them with knowledge as well. We natually differ with one another psychologically in thoughts, ideas and morals, along with the different cultures and ethnicities out there in the world. Socializing with eachother in a poistive manner gives us a chance to consider another person's position on an issue, as well as your own, and think more outside the box. Especially in college, we're likely to meet a wide variety of people in the world, so now is a great opportunity to expand your horizon.
